SURROUNDING STATES INTRODUCE STRONG IMMIGRATION LEGISLATION
Texas Will be a Prime Target as Illegals Search out Another Home

IRCOT recently visited with Texas Representatives to discuss upcoming immigration reform legislation that will be introduced in the 81st Legislative session to begin in January , 2009.  The meetings were a joint effort of IRCOT and the newly formed Central Texans for Secure Borders (CTSB) serving Austin & surrounding areas

Last session several of our most dedicated legislators on "true" (as opposed to "comprehensive") immigration reform introduced legislation that would have made it much more difficult  (or appealing) for illegals to reside in our State.  Unfortunately, few people on our side of this debate showed up at the Capitol in Austin to show support for the legislation.  As a result, the illegal alien population in Texas continues to swell.

On the other hand, hundreds of illegal alien students were brought in to testify before the House State Affairs committee against Rep. Debbie Riddle's bill which would have ended In-State Tuition for illegal alien students in Texas.  If you want to get your blood boiling, just come to the Capitol and watch how our elected leaders listen for hours on end to testimony of people who should not even be present in our country.....much less be allowed to lobby our elected representatives at taxpayer expense!

In another State when the same tactics were attempted recently, the illegals were told they could not address the committee because, as illegal aliens unlawfully present in the State (and nation), they had no standing to be heard!!   We could sure use a few elected officials of that caliber here in Texas!

IRCOT ANNOUNCES NEW ADVISORY COMMITTEE MEMBER

James Bernsen is the newest addition to the IRCOT Advisory Committee.  James is a former journalist, Capitol staffer and political consultant.  Working for the Lone Star Foundation, he conducted a ground breaking study detailing the cost of illegal immigration to Texas.  His study revealed at least $3.5 billion in direct net losses to Texas from illegal immigration.  James also served in Iraq as a U.S. Navy Intelligence officer from 2007-2008.  He is a native of Southwest Texas and has seen the changes on the border first hand, both as a reporter and a citizen.

We are honored to have James fighting with us in this battle to save Texas and our Nation!

HOW CAN WE WIN THIS IMMIGRATION BATTLE AND SAVE THE USA & TEXAS WHEN BOTH PRESIDENTIAL CANDIDATES SUPPORT SOME FORM OF AMNESTY (EARNED CITIZENSHIP, ETC.)???

FORGET THE FEDS FOLKS, THIS BATTLE WILL BE WON State by State, County by County, City by City........

We need you to be engaged in this battle with us.  The upcoming Texas legislative session is our last chance to end the magnets (jobs, benefits, sanctuary cities) that draw illegal aliens into our communities.

Unless we act NOW, Texas will soon be overrun with an illegal foreign born population.

PLEASE SUPPORT OUR WORK FINANCIALLY AND SPREAD THE WORD!

ADDITIONAL OUTREACH ACTIVITIES
IRCOT Advisory Committee Members and Partners engage in outreach efforts by speaking to groups throughout the State of Texas to educate Texans about the dangers of continued out-of-control immigration policies.

IRCOT Partners have organized countless border and day labor center watches and rallies in support of prosecuted Border Patrol Agents, and protests against "comprehensive" immigration legislation  though out the State.   Many of these groups travel to other parts of the U.S. to assist with border watches in other States because as U.S. Border Watch states,
"National Security is Border Security."

Many of the accomplishments listed above were self-funded by the leadership of the organizations listed.

Our continued success in this battle depends upon donations from our supporters.

Your contributions will allow IRCOT to continue the fight to save and secure this Nation and the great State of Texas!
